BESTSELLER Foundation is a private foundation funded by BESTSELLER.
We focus our efforts where progress has the greatest multiplier effect – investing in women’s opportunity to create, work, and own in a rapidly changing world.
From creative industries and entrepreneurship to ownership, financial power, and the future of work, we back women in building economic independence on their own terms.
Women play a central role across BESTSELLER’s value chain – as colleagues, makers, and customers. With around 80 percent female colleagues across the company, strengthening women’s opportunities reflects both where we can make a meaningful difference, and where our connection to BESTSELLER is strongest.
Our ambition is lasting economic independence for women. Because when a woman’s opportunities improve, the wellbeing of her family improves with her – and that is where lasting change begins.
BESTSELLER is an international, family-owned fashion company that brings people, fashion, and technology together to create positive results for everyone.
Founded by the Holch Povlsen family in Denmark in 1975, BESTSELLER has grown from a single store into an international company with more than 25,000 colleagues, 3,100 stores, and a presence in 90 markets.
BESTSELLER’s global value chain spans 15 countries and supports the livelihoods of more than 750,000 people. The company works closely with partners to improve ways of working, raise standards, and contribute to a value chain built on trust, transparency, and continuous improvement.
This value chain also shapes where we engage. South Asia – and in particular Bangladesh, one of BESTSELLER’s key production countries – is a natural focus for our work, alongside Sub‑Saharan Africa and Europe.
BESTSELLER Foundation was established in 2015.
In its first 10 years, the foundation made +25 impact investments and +100 donations – across 25 countries.
In 2026, we refined our strategic focus to centre on women and families.
Going forward, we invest in women’s opportunities to create, work and own in a rapidly changing world.
We invest in solutions that expand access to work, income and ownership.
Alongside investments, we partner and co-create to remove barriers and unlock economic opportunities.
We are funded by BESTSELLER, a family-owned global fashion company.
This long-term commitment enables patient capital – backing lasting economic independence for women over time.
