Zijani reclaims used vegetable oil from hotels and restaurants in Nairobi and Mombasa, ultimately transforming it into biodiesel in partnership with other waste to value companies.

Zijani also produces soap from the cooking oil and is in the process of setting up an organic waste management processing plant.

Our engagement

Zijani was part of our Waste to Value Accelerator, run in partnership with Intellecap. They went through a 9-month technical assistance programme, and received investment from the Foundation in 2021.
