Then this is your call for action! We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our team at the BESTSELLER Foundation.  

We are looking for a new team member to help grow our portfolio of impactful start-ups and interventions across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The opportunity

As our new investment associate, you’ll play an active role in deal origination and deal-making as well as supporting our existing portfolio. Main responsibilities include:

  • Exploring emerging investment opportunities and perform research on markets, companies, and themes that align with our investment mandate (predominantly climate-tech and circular economy)

  • Playing an active role in the deal making process – from sourcing and screening new investment opportunities to due diligence, deal execution, and closing

  • Collaborating with portfolio companies on their growth journey, including support on financial and impact management

  • Supporting the development of strong partnerships with co-investors and other stakeholders

  • Overseeing portfolio reporting on a quarterly basis

What you bring

  • +3 years of experience in impact investing in Sub-Saharan Africa; perhaps you’ve worked for an intermediary advising multiple clients and structuring deals, perhaps you’ve been an investment analyst at a venture fund, or perhaps you’ve founded/operated a company

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills

  • Ability to think strategically and handle ambiguity

  • Team-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong experience in our investment focus areas is an advantage
