Pakistan, home to over 220 million people, continues to grapple with hunger and food insecurity challenges.

While vulnerable communities rely heavily on free meal programs, The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (Gain) highlights a concerning disparity: only 32% of beneficiaries are women.

Socio-cultural barriers, mobility and safety concerns, and limited nutrition awareness all contribute to this gap, restricting mothers and caregivers from accessing the support they need.

To help address this challenge, GAIN Pakistan, in partnership with BESTSELLER Foundation, is launching NutriForce for Future – a program designed to expand access to nutritious and fortified food for 560,000 vulnerable people through six food distribution networks and four industrial distribution networks.

“We are intentionally addressing the gender gap in food distribution by strengthening both community and workplace channels. Our goal is to ensure that women of reproductive age, mothers, and vulnerable families have improved access to safe, nutritious, and fortified foods that support long-term health and resilience," says Farrah Naz, Country Director at GAIN Pakistan.

Through this partnership, we hope to contribute to reducing anaemia and malnutrition rates, and enhancing workforce well-being – especially for young women and mothers with young children.
