The Artificial Intelligence Accountability Lab (AIAL) looks at how AI is used in real life and what it means for people. Founded by researcher Abeba Birhane, the lab works to make complex technology easier to understand and more transparent.

Through a partnership with BESTSELLER Foundation, AIAL explores how AI shapes access to work, opportunities, and decision-making. The work helps bring clarity to how these systems affect everyday life, especially for people who risk being left out as technology evolves.

By making AI easier to understand and question, the partnership contributes to a conversation about how technology should be used – with a clearer focus on people, their rights, and their opportunities.
